This is one of my very first paintings, made around 2 or 3 years ago. I'm quite proud of it. Although aesthetically it leaves much to be desired, I enjoy the concept of the piece, and can look at it without cringing in horror.
For those who are wondering, the man in the fore is Ernest Rutherford.
I see a 54 year old retail store manager thinking about his retirement when he will become a full time amateur golfer and continue growing as a person while he sits in monochromatic monotony in his current position.
Pretty cool for a first painting. I like seeing the texture of the canvas board- gives it a nice traditional painting feel. Or something.
My only suggestion is that his head could have been a little smaller, or the body a little bigger- it's just a bit out of proportion- but proportions suck anyways.
Can you explain the post sign as well?
So, in other words, it's your dad, pretending to be Ernest Rutherford, in the middle of nowhere with a strange sign behind him, right? ;3 I knew it.
maybe it's like about schimdt.... or something i really like this painting..... it was back in the day when i did my crazy orange peel space painting and that swan thing.... so top effort tom keep up the good work or something.

Hmm.
The man definitely does have a sense of sadness or yearning about him..

Yes, the head is a little large, but I think it looks okay. Besides, back when I did this painting proportions were the least of my worries.
The sign post is a monkey on a green background.
Precisely. You hit the nail on the head.
I saw wierdosity.
